AU79 is defined by proportion, material depth, and a clear, assertive presence. The hand-applied gold leaf fronts create a subtly textured, reflective surface that responds sensitively to light, while its underlying geometry provides a controlled framework for the composition.
The walnut and lacquered top forms a clean, horizontal closure above the gold façade, balancing its intensity. Behind the front, a walnut interior emerges, with a rich grain and warm tone. The console combines enclosed storage with integrated bar compartments at the edges, organised within a compact and rational layout.
The deliberate contrast between gold, walnut, and lacquered elements results in a strong yet controlled object. Its character is defined by the relationship between mass, light, and material — where density and fine detailing coexist.
