Zöldlomb Apartment
Project including product development in collaboration
Bespoke designed and manufactured built-in furniture
Description
The project started with the reorganisation of an existing apartment, where space and furniture evolved together rather than as separate layers. The design process remained unified from architectural concept to detailing, allowing for consistency throughout.
Furniture plays an active role in shaping the interior. In the bathroom, a full storage wall and mirror expand the perceived space, while the long, low cabinet in the living room establishes a visual axis and connects the interior to the garden.
The result is a balanced environment where constraints guide the design — and where restrained elements form a coherent whole.
Key Considerations
Design Unity
Architecture and furniture were conceived as one system, allowing consistent decisions from spatial layout to detailing.
Spatial Organisation
Functions are interconnected, while lamella elements and built-in furniture define zones without closing them off.
Material Approach
Oiled oak, brass, and black elements form a restrained and balanced palette, establishing a natural and calm atmosphere.
Connection to Exterior
The full-height sliding door visually and physically extends the living space towards the garden.
Working Within Constraints
The project operates within a defined budget framework, where carefully prioritised interventions ensure both coherence and long-term usability.
